After some delays, the Clarnico Quay project is back underway.
In June 2017 our design team came across some technical issues with the site, which required significant revisions to the designs and plans we had developed to that point. Over the few months we have been exploring design options that could work around certain site constraints.
We have now developed an updated design proposal that can still achieve all the objectives and uses that emerged from our previous research – including the mix of creative workspaces, units for food, drink and events businesses, community spaces, horticultural space and shared public facilities ahead of permanent development on the land.
We are hosting a research and design showcase event before we submit a planning application in late February / early March 2018. Please view our Events page for more details
We are still seeking input and ideas from local people, to help shape our ideas and inspire our designs.
You can quickly share your ideas and register your interest in the project by filling out an online form
We have been hosting public events and focus groups to explore the kind of space the community needs. Our final event will be a design and research showcase where you can see our final designs before we submit a planning application, and learn how to get involved with the project if our application is successful.
